What is a quash petition?
A quash petition is an application to the High Court invoking its inherent jurisdiction to set aside an FIR, charge sheet or criminal proceeding where continuation would amount to an abuse of the process of law. Read more about quash petitions.
Can an FIR be quashed by the Telangana High Court?
The High Court may examine a petition for quashing an FIR, but relief depends entirely on the allegations, the material on record, the nature of the offence and settled legal principles. Understand FIR quashing in the Telangana High Court.
What is the difference between quashing an FIR and anticipatory bail?
Quashing seeks to bring the criminal proceeding itself to an end, whereas anticipatory bail only protects a person from arrest on conditions while the case continues. Compare both remedies.
When can anticipatory bail be requested?

What documents are normally required for a bail consultation?
Ordinarily the FIR or complaint copy, remand report, arrest memo where applicable, any court orders passed and identity and address proof of the applicant and sureties. See the regular bail page.
What action can be taken after a cheque is dishonoured?
A statutory demand notice is ordinarily issued within the prescribed period after receipt of the bank return memo, followed by a complaint if payment is not made within the notice period. Read the Section 138 page.
